Best Time to Visit Kruger National Park - Season by Season
By Mike Lawrie
When to visit Kruger and the Greater Kruger: dry winter (May-Sep) for the Big Five, green summer (Nov-Mar) for birding and fewer crowds. Month-by-month guide.
The best time for wildlife viewing in Kruger is the dry winter (May to October), when thin vegetation and concentrated waterholes make sightings easier. November to April is green season - lower rates, fewer crowds, and excellent birding with migrants arriving. September offers the best combination: dry, dramatic light, visible wildlife.
